My Mistake

This weekend I made a mistake, I ordered a Tesco Delivery and when it arrived I saw they had substituted a 24 roll of Toilet paper with a 12 roll and were charging me same price , I said wait a minute and called Tesco whom said to me “you’re correct , keep the 12 pack and we’ll send you a full refund”

Now that wasn’t my mistake , my Mistake I was so proud of the fact and remembering when i lived in Israel customer Service was non existent I posted on Facebook Group Brits Living in Israel , now if you’re not aware of this fantastic group which has 9000 members and growing , then you should, this group shows what Facebook is a place to help and support fellow Brits and others too, this group single handily helped when the brits were forced into Covid hotels with no prior notice , or raffle off British goods and deliciousties to support charities or helping Brits navigate the bureaucracies of Israeli lifestyle or even answer the old age question, where can a Brit find Heinz baked beans in Israel, or Terminal easy Jet fly from .

I posted on the group and true to social media got roasted with people telling me Supersol and Wolt have similar , which I’m happy hearing that as for me it was a bane that Israel’s customer service was poor.

But what hurt me the most was the countless comments “you don’t live here anymore, how dare you criticise Israel” and it continued until Anton Delin the admin a modern life Hero who deserves also the Israeli prize and Knighthood for his unbelievable goodness of heart , shut everybody down by saying to everyone how even though I’ve gone I still help countless people and work hard to support them and the reasoning’s of me leaving are beyond my control and knowing as soon as I’m able I’ll be back and then promptly shut off commenting on this post.

And it got me thinking in this one I was wrong but the idea of social Media of people commenting without knowing the full situation is frightening aspect .

Sometimes people mean one thing and it actually means something else, when I was 6 my father had on the table a bottle of alcohol I asked for some he said its too strong so I knocked it over and said , see I’m stronger then it , obviously we both had different interpretation of strength .

When one reads into a post before commenting think is this a message I want to give, do I know the full back story ?

Words kill and especially words are viral ...
