Keep Olim
Did you know a third of those committing suicide in Israel are olim (new immigrants)?
This statistic is insane, yet true. Suicide prevention hotlines have no funding for English speaking therapists and so many immigrants have a difficult time getting the help they need in Israel.
Fortunately, there is a non-governmental organization that goes above and beyond to help new olim and provides free therapy and other assistance. The NGO is called “Keep Olim in Israel” and I am very lucky and privileged to be on its Board of Directors. I am also in charge of its Government Relations Program which helps olim with bureaucratic issues. Additionally, I am an administrator of Keep Olim’s facebook group, which has over 40 thousand members!
The organization does so much in addition to the mental health program ; it has programs that make sure no oleh (new immigrant) is alone and matches them up with families for holiday meals, the Bikur Holim (Visiting the sick) program where volunteers that visit immigrants in hospitals, bringing gifts to make them feel loved and we also provide food vouchers to families that are struggling, as Israel is expensive.
There’s a saying if you want to make a small fortune in Israel, come with a big fortune.
Unfortunately, the government is more than happy to talk about Israel as a Jewish state without thinking of that the heart of Judaism is about looking after one another no matter who, what, when, where and why.
Keep Olim operates on donations and deals with immigrants from all over the world; we help olim from England, USA , Australia, Russia, Ukraine, France, Argentina, Brazil, Ethiopia, Uganda, the Bnei Menashe and many more. They are religious and not religious, left and right leaning. We have on our Board representatives from both sides of the political aisle, as we are completely apolitical.
We also help lone soldiers and support Inter Aliya football and baseball teams.
Currently, our donation levels are low and if we don’t get more donations soon, we may have to close down and all our important programs will be stopped.
It is said that he who saves a soul in Israel, is considered to have saved a whole world.
If you can support this important NGO and help save a world, please reach out via the website:

And if you can't donate, please share with others about the work this amazing organization is doing to help so many new immigrants in Israel.
I want to say to the government officials who are running in the upcoming elections – let’s make this issue an election issue. Let’s make a change so that Israel stops being a country where immigrants are pushed till they fall – let’s pick them up before they fall.
