ask....

I'm working on a project which I can't talk about yet. We have a dedicated Google Doc document, where all the participants upload their input. I was curious to check on other input so went into the document, to discover input from only one participant. All the other input, including mine which I worked so hard on, had disappeared. I asked that participant in a group chat and they said: "I thought it was individual docs and that was examples so I deleted everything else. "
Luckily I had backup and put my input right back up. We are judged on capability on our input, so imagine if I wouldn't have checked, the boss would have seen only one participant and probably gone on further, not realising other participants have worked. That just goes to show that if you're unsure just ask. It's okay to have doubts, by asking you get clarity.
Another lesson is "If you don't ask, you don't get.
As my wife Esther is visually impaired, she is entitled to a carer to help her with household tasks and various chores. As I mentioned recently I had to have an assessment to make sure that I can be officially registered as her carer. During the assessment they told me about an organization that helps carers. One of the benefits is they give grants for household appliances that help in the house. Esther was desperate for a dryer, so I asked them for a dryer. I was skeptical , as a dryer costs a pretty penny, but it was approved, and we will soon be getting our new dryer,
Never be ashamed to ask - maybe you"ll get a break .
When I really needed a big break, I turned to Danny Cohen, then Director of BBC with my story. That resulted in an incredible experience for me, in working at Shiver productions which changed my life
So, just ask and you may get a yes.......
