kitchen leak

Fun and games! I was up until 3 am this morning. I then put my alarm on so I could wake up and send ideas for articles to the newspaper. When I woke up, Esther said, "There are no lights in the bathroom!" 

I was getting up to check why when Esther screamed from the kitchen, "Josh come quick!" I came to check and discovered water was leaking from flat above.

I called my landlord agent at Aubrey Lee Estates, who told me to knock on the upstairs flat door. I knocked, no answer.

We then knocked on our next door neighbour's door and he told us that flat is rented out by Normie Estates.

We called my agent back and he called Normie and they tried to call the tenant but there was no answer. They sent someone around with a key only to discover the tenant had been home all the time. 

It turns out her pipes got blocked and burst. They fixed the problem and we were told in meantime not to use electricity in the kitchen for 24 hours and to send an email listing the damages.

I think we escaped with only minimal damage - only hairline crack in kitchen, but really tiring to deal with all the mess. Obviously we also had to get a cleaner in to clean things up. 

I also had a long chat today with a solicitor regarding discrimination that happened to me and Esther in October, so we will know in seven days if they will take on our case.

University and other things going on today too, so it's been a long day of drama and fun, but getting over it.

Life comes at you in mysterious ways and causes fun and games when you least expect it.
