last week
So yesterday I updated up until I returned to the UK on Thursday.
For those that missed it, go read yesterday’s blog before coming to this one.
On Friday, I prepared for Shabbat. Friday night, we ate at a mutual friend’s place and on Shabbat day, we had two kiddushins of friends.
We had to go in to say Mazel Tov, and because of that, we arranged to eat at home but on the way back we stopped at my friend Motty Koppel’s to say hello and before we knew it we were joining them for lunch, which was nice. We chatted for a while and then at night came home.
On Sunday morning, I had an important zoom meeting with Israeli officials and in the afternoon, we celebrated my nephew turning 3 at a family event.
On Monday daytime, I did some coursework and at night had a family Bar Mitzvah, where I sang a bit together with the singer Buchi Glick, which was nice.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I carried on with coursework and on Thursday, I went to Old Trafford to see United’s game against Barcelona. I almost had a heart attack when I came as my ticket read as canceled! I went to the ticket office which said there was no reason it should have been cancelled and issued a new one, only to have the new one not working as well! Finally, third time lucky, I entered the game at the 30th minute to see United beat Barcelona 2-1 to get through to the next stage.
I met friends from Israel after the game which was nice.
On Friday night, we ate with an old family friend and there was plenty of meat, so I was happy.
Afterwards, I went to wish Mazel tov to my brother in law’s brother, who also happens to be a cousin of Esther, on birth of their baby boy.
On Shabbat day, we went to the kiddush of the Bar Mitzvah boy, then ate at my parents in law’s. We then went to say mazel tov to a friend who had a baby girl and from there to the circumcision of the son of my brother in law’s.
After that, we waited until after Shabbat to come home to wait for a Tesco order. Lucky enough, I looked out the window and saw the driver going to wrong address, so I ran after him.
We then went to say hi to some of Esther’s relatives visiting from Israel.
That was my week in full and it was a full week!
