USA

June was a fun month. After watching the FA cup final in Wembley where Manchester United lost to Manchester City, it started off with a trip to New York. It was my first visit to the USA so it was extremely fun.
I took a Virgin Atlantic flight and sat down for the 6 hours to New York. Great food and an ice pop on board made it extremely special. On arrival in New York, I took the air train to Jamaica Station, and went to the subway. To see the rats running around, something I've heard a lot about, but never thought was true, enhanced my perspective. I took the subway and made my way to my hotel on Times Square, where I was given a penthouse suite, thanks to El Al who sponsored my trip. The day, I made my way to the Jerusalem Post Conference where I made a load of connections and learned a lot about the great newspaper network I work for.
The next day I made my way on the bus to New Jersey to an expo by the orthodox Jewish chamber of commerce where I made a whole lot more connections, and took the bus back.
The following day I met my old neighbour from Manchester who had remarried and moved to the USA. It was so good to see her. I then made my way to Yeshiva University for a meeting and from there to 770 in Brooklyn, where I met leaders of the Chabad movement, and went to pay my respects at the Ohel, the burial site of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and made my way back to my hotel.
The next day I took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and then back to Times Square for lunch with Jonny Daniel, yes the same guy I met in Warsaw who happened to be in the USA for meetings with his incredible organization.
I then took the subway and air train back to the airport to take a night Virgin Atlantic night flight back home.
In my next blog, I'll tell you what happened on the flight and the rest of June.
