Newcastle

Yesterday, I went to Newcastle for a meeting that unfortunatly didn't go well. Because I wasn't sure at what time the meeting would end, I booked a hotel for the night. I took the train to Newcastle and upgraded myself for 10 pounds to first class for better seats and free drinks and snacks. It was a great journey. When I entered the hotel to check in, the first thing I noticed was the smell of paint. "Yes, we are renovating," said the clerk and asked me for a 10 pound deposit for the key card. I went up to my room. It was a small room and I could smell the paint from there. I went to use the facilities and suddenly, the fire alarm went off! I jumped up and ran downstairs to the lobby. "Oh, don't worry, we are doing a fire drill!" said the clerk. I went back upstairs and every few minutes the alarm went off. My sensory issues went into overload. I checked out and booked into the Holiday Express instead. There the room was great and I felt a lot better. I...

Israel and Nottingham

The last blog I wrote was when I was en route to Israel. I flew Virgin Atlantic, of course. I really enjoy Virgin Atlantic’s brand and the friendliness of staff. We have some good conversations and I get a chance to sleep because of their comfortable seats and thus I arrived rested in Tel Aviv. This was a good thing because as soon as I arrived, I dropped my cases with a friend and went to a meeting in the Knesset for Keep Olim with a sympathetic Member of Knesset. I then went to say hello to my friend, the Spokesman of the Knesset, Shmuel Dahan, who gave me a present, the official calendar of the Knesset, which now sits in a prime location on my desk next to the framed photo of me with President Herzog. I stayed at the Knesset, introduced myself to new Members of Knesset who don’t know me yet, and said hello to Members of Knesset who already know me. It felt good when MK Pnina Tamano-Shata said it was a treat to get to see me and the Leader of Opposition, former PM, MK Yair Lapid shoo...

exclusive article

It's been a crazy weekend! My flight from Germeny was delayed by 40 minutes, so I thought I'll miss my connection as I only had one hour to transfer. But a rep was waiting by my plane and took me straight to my plane to Manchester. On Wednesday, I rested and on Thursday, I traveled with Esther to London for Shabbat with my friend Tom Rev and his daughters. It gave me a chance to see my London siblings. On the train, I wrote the article on Germany, one of the most special articles I have ever written. It was about the grandson of a Nazi who opened a shul and a kosher kitchen in the orthopedic hospital he runs to atone for his grandfather's deeds. It is a phenomanal story, that was published this morning and is doing the rounds, with people saying how it's an amazing story. Esther had to be early back in Manchester, so this morning I woke up at 6 and went with her to the station to make sure she got on the 8 o'clock train. Went back to Hendon to pick up the headph...

My Germany Trip

I'm at Berlin Airport. It’s been a crazy few days: firstly, Saturday was the Manchester Derby and United came back from a 1-0 loss to win the match 2-1. The atmosphere was mental! Everyone went wild with joy! On Saturday night, I didn’t manage to sleep and at 3 am, I took a taxi to the airport. While waiting in the lounge, I made a new connection with a couple traveling to Athens. At 6am I took my flight to Munich, and a short connection later, my flight to Berlin. In Berlin, I took an Uber to my hotel, the Crowne Plaza and checked into my studio room. An Israeli friend, who lives in Berlin, picked me up and we went to the Jewish cemetery. Before the Holocaust, my Grandmother lived in Berlin and her younger brother, Herman, who died when he was two years old, is buried in Berlin. After much searching, we found his grave and I prayed there. Interestingly, he died in 1923, 100 years ago. After I toured the Jewish quarter, I returned to my hotel and was so tired that I went straight t...

long day , knackered

Its been a long day i'm very tired sorry

not feeling so good

tiredness hit me

The tiredness hit me. Yesterday, I went out and watched United play against Charlton in the quarter finals. We won 3-0, getting us in to the semi-finals. Tonight we will find out who we play against. I hope it's an easy team, so we get to the finals in Wembley. I got home, watched films and went to sleep. Woke up today exhausted and after getting a sandwich from State Fayre, my go-to sandwich is an egg and mayo salad with smoked salmon, pickles and olives on a bagel, I decided to go back to sleep but Esther woke me up! Murphy's law... I'm relaxing watching videos as next week and week after are going to be intense. I wasn't feeling so good, so I took some medicine, Macallan 12. Whiskey is always the best medicine! Sometimes you just have to relax and rest but always be prepared to do what needs to be done. We got the invatation for my nephew's bar mitzva, which is after Passover. My parents are coming back to the UK for it, so it will be nice for everyone to see t...

busy

I was busy today and now i'm at old trafford, sorry

failed my driver's theory test

Once again I failed my driver's theory test. I really thought it would be 3rd time lucky, but I failed by two points. I needed 43 out of 50 to pass but I only got 41 right. It really is hard as I can't carry on my practical side until I pass. A while ago, in Israel, I wrote a story about a place owned by my friend Gershon Vorchick, which is now closed, which had a way to learn theory via VR. I wish they had the same here, I study so much better visually. Never mind, I will keep on trying, another 23 pounds to pay for the test and will continue until I pass. Yesterday, I asked in chat GP which newspaper do I work for and it answered me that I work for competiting newspaper! Um no.... AI isn't that smart apparently! After my theory test, I went to the city centre, got my photo with the President printed and framed and then went to KFC to eat lunch. I love KFC original chicken but don't like their fries, so I always get mashed potato and gravy and have a great meal of chic...

my weekend

On Weds. night, I got to sleep late. Just after I fell asleep, I got a call from a friend who was stuck and needed my help. I helped him out ,which took a while, then tried to go back to sleep. The problem is once that once I"m awake, it's harder for me to get back to sleep. Eventually, I got back to sleep and shortly after my alarm went off for morning wake-up. I sent off an article recommendation and sorted a few things and went back to sleep, only for Esther to wake me up. The person who was supposed to access her needs, who was supposed to come at 3pm, asked if he can come early. I dragged myself out of bed and got dressed, he came and accessed. I went back to sleep, woke up, ate something and went into a zoom board meeting for Keep Olim. After the zoom meeting, was way too tired, so watched videos in bed and back to sleep. On Friday, I sorted things out then after lighting, Esther went to where she was eating and I went to Old Trafford to see Manchester United beat Everto...

busy day

Was woken in middle of the night to help someone , they came to access Esthers needs in flat , went back to sleep , had a board meeting ,  So did not have time to write blog  Sorry

I'm knackered

I'm knackered, which is English slang for I'm exhausted. I went to sleep late last night and was woken early by a phone call. Then I had to stop by my brother's office to pick up papers I needed, from there, I went to the post office to send a parcel and deposit cash in my account. From there to Tescos for shopping and then on to a local bakery to buy bagels for lunch. I wrote two articles and now am resting and then I'm going to do coursework. Yesterday, I met my mate, Ophir Shimi Noach, at the game, which we won 3-0. That guy is a legend. He flies in from Israel a couple of times a year to watch United, but because he used to live in London, back when Brentford was in League 1, he also supports them. He was here for Nottingham Forrest game and then went to Brentford vs Liverpool with the plan to fly back straight after. He was so giddy with Brentfords win over Liverpool that he changed his flight ticket and came yesterday to the game. It was a nice surprise. I also m...

push hard and work hard

Just finished University class and leaving now to Old Trafford to watch United. We stayed home today as an electrician was supposed to come to check and evaluate the lighting, but they never arrived. Tomorrow, I have to ring up and find out why. I've written a few more articles and done a bit of work on the side for the NGO's that I volunteer with. I also contacted a business partner of a famous ex-footballer, a former Manchester United player, trying to get a meeting with the football player, I hope it happens! In life, one has to push and work hard to get what you want. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. I applied for a job in a huge organisation, I hope I get it, as that will definatly bring my life to a better place. In exactly 20 days is my last class of University, then by finishing coursework and exams, I finish my degree, so close! I would have never dreamt that I would be recieving a degree, but I'm so close to recieving one, it's amazing! I messag...

Ruderman Foundation

I just finished an incredible meeting with Shira Ruderman, CEO and founder of the Ruderman Foundation. I shared with her my success story and thanked her for her part in my success: by supporting the Shekel organisation she therefore helped me. We spoke about the work of the organisation in different areas; whether it is helping people with disabilities or its work in Hollywood and with the Academy to encourage more people with disabilities in the film world. We spoke about the work of the organisation to create a commen ground between America and Israel and how to bring Israel goals to the USA and vice versa. We discussed the organisation's 2023 goals such as working for better mental health care in the USA and their fight against Antisemitism. The Ruderman Foundation is a fascinating organalisation with many different of activities on so many fronts. I think its important to recognise those who do a lot for society and to remember that there are so many organisations out there w...
