last week

So yesterday I updated up until I returned to the UK on Thursday. For those that missed it, go read yesterday’s blog before coming to this one. On Friday, I prepared for Shabbat. Friday night, we ate at a mutual friend’s place and on Shabbat day, we had two kiddushins of friends. We had to go in to say Mazel Tov, and because of that, we arranged to eat at home but on the way back we stopped at my friend Motty Koppel’s to say hello and before we knew it we were joining them for lunch, which was nice. We chatted for a while and then at night came home. On Sunday morning, I had an important zoom meeting with Israeli officials and in the afternoon, we celebrated my nephew turning 3 at a family event. On Monday daytime, I did some coursework and at night had a family Bar Mitzvah, where I sang a bit together with the singer Buchi Glick, which was nice. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I carried on with coursework and on Thursday, I went to Old Trafford to see United’s game against Barcelona. I alm...

my week in Israel

Sorry I haven't upgraded my blog lately. It has been just a crazy time! Last time I wrote was after landing in Tel Aviv after discrimination I experienced with Brussels Airlines which made me have to pay for an upgrade so I could have seat appropriate for my disability. Well they refunded the money and gave an apology after I complained. I landed in Israel on Thursday and went to my Rabbi to help him in the soup kitchen. I then went to my friend Tom Rev's place where I was staying the following day. On Shabbat, I slept a lot. I really needed it. On Sunday, I did my exam and went to buy some jeans at Castro as I'm running low on clothes. I brought 4 pairs. On Monday, I went to Bnei Brak for a meeting with the Kamana Rebbe, a Hassidic rabbi, whom I am very close to. Afterwards, I went to Castro again as they had made a mistake on my bill which they sorted out. On Tuesday, I went to Tel Aviv to help Tom with dropping off a friend there and afterwards went to my nephew's Ba...

sorry

Sorry havent been posting, finishing ogf my final courseworks for my degree...

Brussels Airlines Disability Discrimination.

Hello from Israel! I'm here to take the final exam of my degree, which takes place Sunday. Sorry I didn't post yesterday, it was a crazy day. In the morning, we celebrated Esther, my wife's, birthday. Esther is a huge fan of the TV show, Friends, so I got her a cooking set enbossed with the logo plus some socks embossed with the logo and a necklace with her initials on. She was so happy! Then our cleaner came, so I went to Tesco's to buy stuff needed for the house and to take out cash to pay her. Our cleaner, Maria, is amazing. She is an Ukrainian refugee from Llov. She used to teach English there. She really understands our needs and does over and beyond to clean our house. Before shopping, I had a good coffee in Costa, then bought from the shops what we need and also found a nice bar mitzva present for my nephew.  On my way back from Tesco, I stopped off in Staytefair and brought Esther a chocolate croissant.  I got back home and my stomach issues suddenly started a...

Hospital Tests

Hi from my bedroom. I'm weak but good as yesterday I had a colonscopy and endoscopy. It had not been an easy two days! On Sunday, I was allowed only clear fluids so could only have soup in afternoon. I took out the soup I had in the freezer, but it was only enough for one meal. At 6pm, I took a laxative and went to spend a while aquainting myself with my bathroom. I was scared to order soup on Uber eats as I knew I might be in my bathroom, so couldn't go down to pick it up. Lucky enough, my sister brought something over for my Mum, as I'm flying to Israel on Thursday, so she stopped on the way and got me some soup. I stayed in the bathroom till late and went to sleep when it all cleared. At 4 am, I got a phone call from my Rabbi. I had booked him a flight back to Israel after he was abroad. He got to the airport to discover they can't find his booking. After sorting it out - it took almost a hour, I watched videos for another hour and at 6am had a second dose of laxat...

crazy week

It's been a crazy week! I returned from Newcastle and the following day, there was the second semi final vs Nottingham, which we won by two goals, ensuring we are for sure going to Wembley  On Thursday I rested and on Friday, I was zonked, way too exhausted. Must have been all that andrenalin! On Friday night, we ate at friends of Esther and for half the meal, I was with their baby, who was so quiet and happy to be on my lap. Saturday I got up, got dressed and went to town. I went to Greggs and bought a steak bake, thought about getting a coffee but thought, nah, I"ll get my coffee in my usual spot near Old Trafford. I arrived there only to discover that it was closed. Typical! So I went to the pub where I go every pre game. It was packed to the brim, had two beers and sang along, but decided to go to the ground a bit early to buy a coffee and some snacks. Did that and sat in my spot to watch a game full of controversy as we won by two goals and one of our players got red c...
