Shekel

This week Ofer Dahari was appointed CEO of shekel organisation, Ofer was incredible to me when I first entered shekel as a scared boy and not trusting anyone after I was abused in previous Hostels I had been at. So its only fair that I dedicate this blog to Ofer and to shekel that changed my life and helped me get to where I need to be. I came to shekel very hurt and angry I felt as I did not need to be in anyplace near any organisation and like previous places I was scared I would be abused and hurt , yet I met Ofer in the offices and was accepted shortly after to shekel , I tested the councillors contently and 1 day I called the police on a councillor who confiscated my laptop in order to make me go to bed on time , I was so angry at him. Ofer sat me in his office and in the nicest possible way explained why they took my laptop and why it was wrong to call the police and I suddenly realised I was in a place that wanted to help and support me . It was a long journey , over 10 ye...

Respect others

This morning at Breakfast and in the lounge, my wife ate fruit vegetables etc. while I enjoyed a good Meat breakfast, why is that momentous , you see my wife is religious , I’m not we have compromises between us , yes I grew up in a religious home but today I’m not religious and for a while I was even very anti but that changed once I met my wife, reasons of why I left religion is not important, todays blog is about respecting others views even when they are not your own. I met my wife at a pub by a mutual friend , I spoke to her and we exchanged details , years later we met up again and the rest is history . Many people thought this wasn’t right, in fact I received a call from a big rabbi who called to dissuade me yet after a hour conversation he said to me , I'm going to do everything in my power to make this work . I think one can disagree on many notions but one must never bring that disagreements to personally hate one another , we can disagree in politics and still sit for c...

The unexpected

Hello From Belgium, this Blog was supposed to be written in Manchester but God has other plans , a very well known saying is man plans God Laughs , our plane in Tel Aviv got delayed 2 hours which got us late to Brussels which made us miss our connecting flight, next flight Tomorrow at 10 am , Fun and Games.... The airline has put us in a hotel overnight and we expect to receive compensation but it gave me a opportunity to be able to teach a valuable lesson of marketing, expect the unexpected be ok with changes , as changes will happen and screw up your way of thought . But its when you think I can overcome no matter the difficulty , you will succeed . Change is a difficult aspect for people like me with autism , but also difficult for my dear wife . Every aspect of change really bothers her And gives her anxiety and her stress makes it stressful for me , but its times such as that that I try to go over and beyond to live and give for a better future and aspect , yep its difficu...

That extra touch

We are coming to the end of our short sojourn in Jerusalem and i must really talk about the incredibleness of our host , because my parents now live here we wanted to stay close to them so we looked for an apartment in the neighbourhood they and my brother live , my brother sent me names of 3 possible flats and I rang them up , one of the flat owners gave a nice price for 5 days so we booked with him . Thinking of the low fee i expected a little storage house situation , but I walked into a 2nd floor 1 room flat with a small kitchenette and balcony . But what impressed me more was a small tray with coffee and tea , cola and soda and some nuts and sweets . That level of attention to detail thinking what extra can we give our guests is an incredible sense to detail and thinking over the top to bring a sense of satisfaction and happiness to the client i.e. me . I know for a fact I’ll be back here in the future and will defiantly come here before anywhere else . That extra treat is s...

My friend Jerusalem mayor

Shalom from Jerusalem , its been a packed day full of adventures and showing my wife the country I love,  Its been a crazy day between the different aspects of the city I so love . Jerusalem is a city that has so much divide yet so much unification . The different aspects and cultures blend together to make a perfect blend . I"ll always love you Jerusalem no matter where i am . I'm lucky that I know very well the mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion . The first time i met him was at a family Function before he became mayor as he was a city counciler and we spoke for a while and hit off , but never spoke really on a 1 to 1 . A few years later we met in Jerusalem at another family function , this time Moshe was already on his run for mayor , I didnt think he had it in him after asking questions and voted for his oponent ophir Berkovitz  Years later i was asked by Jerusalem counciler Laura Wharton whether I would be interested in meeting the Mayor on a disability photo op , obviou...

DPNA code

I'm writing this blog 30,000 feet above ground aboard a Brussels airline plane with my wife next to me En route to Israel Todays Blog wont be about Marketing its going to be about an important feature of traveling with someone with autism . Most travellers don’t know about this code , I didn’t until I watched a video by Khalid Al Ameri on this valuable code , Khalid has a son with Autism and makes sure to heighten valuable aspects of living with someone with Autism , besides Khalid lives in Dubai which is incredible in the aspect of changing the names from people with Disabilities to People with Determination something which I think every country needs to learn from Dubai. The code is called DPNA , a feature that helps you in all aspects of travel 1. Security , assistance will walk you through , bypassing any lines and making sure you feel protected and secure . On board you can request on space availability to have the seat next to you empty . Staff are aware of this code an...
