i had my gastro appointment

I've just left the hospital after an apointment with a gastro specalist. We discussed my troubles and he said he needs to do a camara test on both ends so they will check dates and let me know. That will be nerve wracking. I'm not looking forward to those tests, but at least I'm getting closer to finding out what's wrong with my gut. I brought stuff from the shops today. Prices are exorbitant and just keep on going up. I booked flights for Esther and I to be in Pesach (Passover holiday) in Israel, which will be nice to spend the holidays with my parents. I have a new niece! My brother Yehuda and his wife had a baby girl. We have just started on the coursework for the last semester at university, which obviously gives me a lot to do, but thinking that in just over a month, I'm done and finished with my degree, it's incredible! The next blog will be in the new year which is also incredible. The year I've had in terms of the level of personal growth including t...

worked too hard today

This and that

I had a Hannukah miracle! I got a phone call from the hospital that they had a cancellation and do I want to come a month earlier to the gastro expert. So on Thursday at 3pm,  I will go see the expert and hopefully soon I'l find out what is wrong with my stomach. I got my psychology exam results and passed, so as soon as I've finished this semester's obligations, I"ve finished my degree! Today, I'll go back to Old Trafford to watch United play. I've missed United so much. I've booked my Germany trip in mid January, so looking forward to another adventure. I have several meetings coming up which are exciting, so looking forward to them too and hope that they will change my life drastically. The weather here in England is miserable: rain, cold and dreary, just the weather I love ... Ladbaby had the no. 1 Christmas song for 5th year running- a song about sausage rolls! It's unbelievable how a Youtuber makes the no. 1 Christmas song for the 5th year running...

Travelling back to manchester, sorry

my week in Israel

I'm sorry! I've been dealing with a heavy cold and a hectic few days. I landed in Israel on Thursday morning, went straight to my hotel, slept a bit, and from there, went to university. My teachers and fellow students were so happy to see me. Afterwards, I went to a bar to see friends and had a pleasant surprise when one of our mutual friends, Harriet, who used to work for the UN and had left Israel shortly before I did, walked in to the bar. She's been visiting Israel, it was so good to see her and catch up.  We were chatting to my friends and drinking until 3am in the morning and then I went straight to sleep. On Friday morning, I went to volunteer at the soup kitchen and that night went for Friday night dinner at my Aunt's home together with my parents and my Uncle from Amsterdam, whom I haven't seen since my Grandfather passed away. It was amazing to catch up with him, as I tasted my Aunt's great food. I walked back to my hotel and on the way started feeling...

flying to TLV

I'm sitting in the lounge at Heathrow, my train to London arrived safely and was on time. I then got on a packed underground to Heathrow. I'm early as my flight is only in a couple of hours, but, as I said to the woman checking me in, it is better to be early, then never, to which she agreed. I managed to work on the train, which is good as I utilised the time to my advantage and managed to get a lot of work done. My friend will be on my flight, so it will be good to catch up and see him. This friend flew from Israel especialy for my wedding at the time, and as he's a professional wedding photographer, he did my wedding free as a gift, so he's a very close friend to me. I'm looking forward to classes tomorrow. One of my teachers announced that she won't be there and someone is taking her class, so when I broke the news that I"ll be in Israel and going to class, she was so disappointed she'll miss me. I'm gonna relax and wait for my flight  Next blo...

life continues

Murphy's law hits again! I went out and had my haircut then went shopping. I got back at one pm to find a note in my postbox: delivery attempted at 12:50pm of five parcels items sent to post office. Ouch, that hurts, especialy as I was intending to bring some of the stuff to Israel with me, so I won't be able to now. In other news, apparently there is a train from Manchester to London once an hour. So I've booked and hopefully I'll get to London for my flight tommorow. I'll let you know if I make it or not. I was contacted by the Chair of a very big leadership program who's heard of me and my lifestory and wants a zoom meeting with me to see how we can cooperate, so thats exciting. The Brits Living In Israel Annual Hannukah/Christmas raffle is back on and upon the request of my good friend, Anton Delin, I picked up some prizes, some marmite and crumpets. I also arranged a donation of three kilos of swizzle sweets from the Swizzle factory. It's for a good cau...

my taxi took over an hour to arrive....

I had a haircut booked for 16:00 and was shopping in Tesco after doing some errands. I finished my shopping at 15:12 and booked a taxi. My plan was drop my stuff off at home and go straight to hairdressers, but an hour later, waiting in the cold and starving as I hadn't eaten anything all day, I was still waiting for my taxi and had to reschedule my haircut for tommorrow. It's been a day of phoning different divisions at Manchester University as I'm considering, following my B.A., which hopefully I will receive at the end of January, to go on to do my Masters there. So I needed to see what support I can receive if I do so. My flight to Israel is on Wednesday night from London and trains will be on strike, so it is going to be crazy getting there. My kettle broke today as well, so can't drink tea. Plenty of things are happening all at once, which takes my mind out of focus. Met a friend today who told me a few snippets of good news which is great to hear. In my eyes, lif...

love what you do

When you love what you do, you are more capable of succeeding. Life is loving what you do, even if you don't earn enough from what you do. It's no secret that I earn pennies from journalism, but the fact that I love my job and work, means more to me then anything else. When I was young, I was once punished and sent upstairs while my family was having a special supper of chips and sausages  I was inconsolable and was crying and crying. My mother felt sorry for me and allowed me to sit with the family, but I wasn't allowed to eat the special meal. They didn't know that I wasn't crying because I couldn't sit with my family, my disappointment was that I wasn't able to eat my favourite meal. So it made it worse that I was sitting with my family, looking at them enjoying the delicacies of my youth and knowing that I wasn't able to eat. If you love what you do, your passion creates Opportunities that give you satisfacation, even if you don't earn enough. Tw...

tired

I slept like a log and woke up so tired today, that I went back to sleep and overslept till the afternoon. It"s been an eventful week with so much happening and so much still to do. I just laid back and relaxed, because I knew that my body needed it. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Apparently the leak two days ago also leaked to the apartment below us, something to do with the way the piping is. Fun and games! Next week, I have to sort out finishing a paper and get ready for my week in Israel. I'm flying Wednesday night. I have to study for my exam which will be while I'm in Israel and prepare for the important meetings while I'm there. Today is a short blog due to my tiredness, but as soon as my stuff is sorted out, I hope to write daily my thoughts, successes and tribulations. . Follow my socials https://linktr.ee/josharonson

tough day

I had a tough day , can't share sorry

kitchen leak

Fun and games! I was up until 3 am this morning. I then put my alarm on so I could wake up and send ideas for articles to the newspaper. When I woke up, Esther said, "There are no lights in the bathroom!"  I was getting up to check why when Esther screamed from the kitchen, "Josh come quick!" I came to check and discovered water was leaking from flat above. I called my landlord agent at Aubrey Lee Estates, who told me to knock on the upstairs flat door. I knocked, no answer. We then knocked on our next door neighbour's door and he told us that flat is rented out by Normie Estates. We called my agent back and he called Normie and they tried to call the tenant but there was no answer. They sent someone around with a key only to discover the tenant had been home all the time.  It turns out her pipes got blocked and burst. They fixed the problem and we were told in meantime not to use electricity in the kitchen for 24 hours and to send an email listing the damages. ...

seek discomfort

Life is never easy, but you succeed by looking for the discomfort. That is what I said to a professer at Givat Washington University today. I give a lecture every year in her course and she heard today why I moved back to the UK when she contacted me regarding something to do with her course, which I can't divulge, but is something very big for me. I very much live by this method, it is something that is important and shows great character spirit. It's been a tough day of writing articles and a big paper that is due by end of the week. I also have been watching the World Cup and am so excited by the chance that England will play France in the quarter finals after beating Senegal 3-0 yesterday. I wrote to a French PR guy I know, Dudu Avitan, that #itscominghome, to which he replied that he believes France will win 2-0! I told him we will see, if we win against France, it means I'll be watching the semi final at Heathrow Airport, and watching the finals, if we advance to ther...

what Life is about

Today I had one less class in University due to last week the teacher dying. His class, obviously, was cancelled There is a new teacher who will start next week, so apprehensive about how that will go. I redid the coursework that I flunked and got a passing grade, so I'm happy that I won't need to redo that class to graduate. It looks like my Germany trip will be in January, so looking forward to that one. In only 10 days, I fly to Israel and have arranged an amazing meeting while I'm there, which can change my life totally, so looking forward to that! I'm checking which hotel I"ll stay in, I don't know yet. Someone is trying to get me a good deal on an amazing hotel, so hoping things will work out. Shabbat was good. On Friday night I ate out and Shabbat day, I stayed in. On Friday, I had cooked chicken, so had a good meal of homemade food, I cooked myself. My editor complimented me on my exclusive from last week and said to me "Great job Josh!" whi...
